Mama's Hands

Titling this post: Mama's Hands reminds me of this great song. Anywho,

Mama's been busy.
Resulting in the neglect of posts. So let me show you what I've been up to:

Refinished and upholstered an antique Settee for our worldly reading room.

Made Valentines day van's for my boys. Post insisted on having green wheels and orange (go figure) body, then went on to attach a headlight to it so it could drive in the dark. Xire just makes vrooom noises around the house.

Slowly I have been getting back into the kitchen. Haven't been spending anytime in there, it is kind of like I have no love for it. Now one to cook for. Don't cook for my husband anymore, our oldest wants to eat his own stuff, our 2 year old is going through a picky stage though he ends up eating my dinner when it is on the table instead of his own, and our youngest well he isn't picky but he's got a menu of his own being so little.
So i am sitting in a house of sickies, usually when my husband leaves the lil ones come down with a respiratory illness and honestly it is due to the stress of his departure. This time however it is my fault I was doing some woodworking in the garage while my husband was working on the syncro and neither were wearing any mask of sorts while going in and out of the garage. So they both have a respiratory attack at the moment.
Here's my regiment:

Peppermint Tea: expectorant, soother, yummy with honey (for Post, agave for Xire)
Chamomile Tea: expectorant, antimicrobial, along with a slue of other benefits, calms you down, and a staple for Post.
Hyssop Tea: to break up that mucus and produce a productive cough to get that stuff out of there
Turmeric: Look it up in accordance to Aryavedic medicine
Licorice Sticks: 4/5 members in this house hold chew on them for dental, oral fixation, teething, when we are sick.
Ginger: Immune system
Garlic: Immune system, see follow recipe for how I hide it in my 2 year olds food
Fresh Fruit
Water
Squashes
Pumpkin

I'm gonna kick this Sh**!
Wellness Smoothie

1 banana
1t Ginger
1/4t Turmeric
1/4 of a garlic clove, tip part
pinch of cinnamon
Almond Milk

-Blend it together
*Note: if you let it sit too long the garlic will infiltrate so have your lil one ready to drink it down when it is done blending. A good way to do this is to get them to put all the ingredients in and push the blender button. They'll be excited

Here is a recipe that is tasty and I have been eating over and over. My husband, when he was home last, took a sneaker bite and loved it, Go me! because he honestly doesn't enjoy all of my creations.

Spinach Feta Stuffed French Toasties

1/4c frozen spinach, defrosted and drained meticulously well
1/4c crumbled feta
pinch of nutmeg, generous
1t dill
cracked pepper
pinch of oregano, generous
Chalal loaf sliced diagonally
2 eggs, whisked
2T Butter, or more
1 Large clove of Garlic, minced
1 Roma Tomato, Chopped

1. Mix first 6 ingredients.
2. Turn pan on to med-hi and get some oil hot in it.
3. Dip one side of a bread slice in egg, place egg side down, scoop as much filling as you want on the bread in the pan (~2 heaping spoonfuls)
4. Place a egged bread, egg side up on top and flip. Remove from pan when both sides are golden.
5. meanwhile, in another pan melt  2T butter and add minced garlic. Cook up until Garlic is golden and remove from heat.
